- Nothing will reveal Nothing OS 5.0 on August 25 at 11:20 BST.
- The company has not named eligible phones or a rollout date.
- A first teaser shows a revised status bar and smoother connectivity animation.
Privately held Nothing Technology has scheduled a Nothing OS 5.0 reveal for Tuesday. The event lands at 11:20 BST on August 25.
The date is firm. The delivery plan is not. Nothing has yet to publish a device list, beta start or stable-release timetable for the Android 17-based software.
That gap matters more than the teaser’s visual polish. Existing owners cannot yet tell whether Tuesday brings a presentation, a test build or software ready for daily use.

The company’s own post says only “Coming Soon” and asks what users hope to see. It does not label August 25 as a public beta or general release. Nothing’s announcement
History argues for caution. Nothing OS 4.0 entered open beta on September 30, 2025. Its general release began November 21, a 52-day interval.

The prior rollout also moved in stages. Phone (3) went first. Other Nothing phones followed over several weeks, while CMF devices were assigned a later year-end window.

These are visible refinements, not a full feature set. The teaser does not establish battery gains, app performance, AI functions or new privacy controls.
Nothing recently sought Phone (3) owners for an unnamed software review programme under non-disclosure terms. That makes early testing plausible. It does not confirm a public beta.
The Phone (3) currently ships with Nothing OS on Android 16. Its hardware includes a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and the rear Glyph Matrix, giving Tuesday’s software reveal a clear flagship reference point.
Risks: The event may stop at a design preview. Installation timing, device support and beta stability remain unknown, so owners should not plan a production upgrade yet.
The decisive numbers will arrive Tuesday. Buyers need an eligibility matrix and dates, while developers need a beta channel and change log. Until then, Nothing OS 5.0 is a reveal with a clock, not a rollout.
