Hidden iOS 26 Photos trick: Apple’s “ticket” icon pulls concert set lists and sports scores

  • iOS 26 Photos now identifies concert and sports shots, highlighting event pages with a ticket-style icon
  • Apple says concert pages in Photos now link directly to Apple Music playlists and upcoming shows
  • This feature is located within Photos’ Info view, the same place users go to see date, location, and other photo details

Apple’s Photos app in iOS 26 now spots pictures taken at concerts and sports games, then pulls up event details like set lists and scores via a ticket-shaped button, according to Apple-focused site 9to5Mac on Sunday. Instead of the usual info button, matched photos display a ticket icon. Plus, Apple’s auto-generated “Memories” collections can include the event name. 1

Apple is promoting the concert version as a tool for fans to revisit live shows and dive back into Apple Music without leaving Photos. According to Apple’s artist guidelines, concert photos and videos feature a ticket icon that links to a concert event page packed with event info, playlists, and upcoming gigs. The concert dates come from Bandsintown or Ticketmaster. 2

Apple is revamping key iPhone apps in iOS 26, aiming to lock users deeper into its ecosystem as the smartphone software space grows more competitive. “iOS 26 shines with the gorgeous new design and meaningful improvements to the features users rely on every day,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, during the update’s preview. 3

Apple’s Photos app can identify pictures snapped at concerts and sports games, then display related info in the Info window. This might show the artist’s top songs or tour details via Apple Music, the final score, and upcoming event dates. 4

According to Apple’s user guide, iPhone users can access this view by swiping up on a photo or tapping the Info button. The panel displays metadata like date, time, location, and camera settings. It also includes event details for photos captured at concerts or sports games. 5

Apple allows users to search their photo library by events such as “sports games or concerts,” as well as by dates, locations, and business names, according to its iPhone guide. 6

Alphabet’s Google Photos has long focused on automated grouping and search features. Apple, however, is doubling down on event pages and service links within Photos itself, avoiding the need to redirect users to separate music or sports apps.

That said, the feature can be inconsistent. Federico Viticci, writing for MacStories, pointed out that Apple hasn’t clarified which event database Photos uses. Plus, smaller gigs he went to in earlier versions didn’t always get identified. Apple also notes some iOS 26 features depend on the region and iPhone model. 7

U.S. stock markets shut down Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, so there was no immediate trading impact on Apple shares. 8
