Realme P4 Power 5G’s 10,001mAh battery heads to India on Jan 29 as price leak surfaces

Realme, the China-based smartphone brand, revealed it will launch the P4 Power 5G in India on January 29 at noon local time. The highlight: a hefty 10,001mAh battery. The company promises up to 32.5 hours of video playback on one charge. The phone will be available through Flipkart and Realme’s India online store. (Gadgets 360)

Battery capacities hitting five digits are a rarity in mainstream smartphones, which typically hover between 4,500mAh and 5,000mAh. Realme, for now, is doubling down on endurance — and it’s hard to miss.

Big batteries used to be synonymous with bulky phones. That’s changing, though, as brands switch to new chemistries and smarter pack designs, cramming more power into the same footprint. Realme is embracing this trend as it prepares for its India launch.

Business Standard spotted a Flipkart microsite showing a phone with a 144Hz display—meaning the screen refreshes 144 times per second—paired with a 1.5K resolution and 80W wired charging. The report also highlights 27W reverse charging, so the phone can power up other gadgets. Early buyers might get a battery replacement guarantee if the battery health falls below 80% within four years. (Business Standard)

Pricing remains unconfirmed, but a recent leak has raised expectations. Gadgets360 shared an image from tipster Sanju Choudhary showing a retail box with an MRP of 37,999 rupees for the 12GB/256GB model; in India, sticker prices like this usually end up higher than the actual selling price. The leak also detailed specs including a Dimensity 7400 Ultra processor, a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization to reduce blur, and IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance ratings — though Realme hasn’t officially confirmed these yet. Realme linked the P4 Power to a design collaboration with Pearl Academy, emphasizing the P series is tailored for India. Students teamed up with Realme’s design and product squads, with Sankalp Panchal’s concept chosen for the phone. “We see India as a design powerhouse, not just a market,” said Francis Wong, Realme India CMO. Pearl Academy president Aditi Srivastava described the project as “rare, hands-on exposure” for the students. (Cxotoday)

Moneycontrol highlighted that Wong insisted the extra “1” in the 10,001mAh battery wasn’t accidental but a deliberate move to break from “industry norms,” aiming to ease users’ charging concerns. The report also noted Realme’s focus on the phone’s “TransView” design, which combines a transparent upper panel with a matte section to boost grip. (Moneycontrol)

The Verge reports that Realme’s phone uses a silicon-carbon battery, a newer tech designed to cram more energy into less space, claiming around three and a half days on light use. The device weighs 218 grams, and it highlighted that Honor’s Power 2 in China packs a comparable 10,080mAh battery. (The Verge)

But high specs don’t always tell the full story. Intense 5G use, a 144Hz display, and rapid charging can kill the battery quicker and generate heat. Ultimately, the price will determine if the P4 Power stays a budget pick or drifts into higher-end territory.

Realme hasn’t revealed the final price or complete specs yet, only dropping hints so far. That leaves a major question mark hanging over the upcoming Jan 29 launch.
