Lufthansa Airlines will launch a nonstop connection between Kuala Lumpur and Frankfurt from Oct. 25, 2026, flying five times a week year-round, the carrier said on Wednesday. It said flights can be booked immediately and the service will use a Boeing 787 fitted with its new Allegris cabin.

The route is being lined up for Lufthansa’s winter 2026/27 schedule — the seasonal timetable that starts in late October — as the group looks for growth in Southeast Asia. Lufthansa said it would be the only airline flying nonstop to Malaysia from its home markets including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and Italy.

Lufthansa has pointed to a mix of tourism and corporate travel demand, with Malaysian media reporting the airline’s view that the country drew 42.2 million visitors in 2025. Germany is Malaysia’s most important trading partner in the European Union and more than 700 German companies are based there, it said.

Under the schedule, LH704 will depart Frankfurt at 9:30 p.m. and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 4:40 p.m. local time the next day. The return LH705 will take off from Kuala Lumpur at 11:55 p.m. and land in Frankfurt at 6:00 a.m., with timings set around onward connections at the German hub.

“We are creating ideal conditions to participate in the growth in Southeast Asia,” Lufthansa Airlines CEO Jens Ritter said in a statement on the new connection. MarketScreener

Bernama reported Lufthansa will operate the route with a 287-seat Boeing 787 in a three-class layout. The aircraft will carry Lufthansa’s “Allegris” product — a refreshed cabin and seat design — which Bernama said includes more legroom and a fold-out leg rest. BERNAMA

The nonstop option will compete with one-stop itineraries between Malaysia and Europe sold via hubs such as Dubai, Doha and Singapore, including flights run by Emirates, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines. Lufthansa chief executive Carsten Spohr, who has been pushing cost cuts and a tilt toward long-haul flying, told Reuters that state-backed rivals leave airlines like his on “not a level playing field.” Reuters

But the start date is still months away and airline schedules can shift, especially on new long-haul routes. Aircraft availability, fuel costs and demand swings can all force changes, and early bookers typically watch for timetable updates.

Malaysia’s New Straits Times also carried a summary of Lufthansa’s planned service this week.

  • Lodestar Minerals (ASX:LSR) sees strong gold grades at Ned’s Creek in new drilling
July 9, 2026, 12:32 AM EDT. Lodestar Minerals (ASX:LSR) said fresh drilling at its Ned's Creek project in Western Australia's Mid West has turned up more high-grade gold hits. The company backed its exploration target of 250,000-300,000 ounces of gold (5-7 million tonnes grading 1.0-1.7 grams per tonne) after releasing new assay results. Ned's Creek sits close to operating gold mines and nearby processing plants, which could help on the commercial front. CEO Coraline Blaud pointed to extensions around the Gidgee Flat area, with new mineralised zones and gold in fresh rock. The drilling campaign was designed to help tighten up the resource ahead of a planned maiden mineral resource estimate in 2026. Assays included a top hit of 16 meters at 3.23g/t gold, which the company said adds to its scale case in a proven gold region.
