Binance will stream a more than four-hour “Binance Online” event on May 13, putting founder Changpeng Zhao, co-CEOs Yi He and Richard Teng, BlackRock Chief Operating Officer Rob Goldstein, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and Solana Foundation President Lily Liu on the same public agenda. The programme is due to start at 11:00 UTC on Binance Square, the company’s social and content platform. Binance
The timing matters because Binance is trying to cast its next phase around institutions, artificial intelligence and tokenization, not only retail crypto trading. Tokenization means recording ownership or claims on assets, such as funds or securities, on a blockchain.
It also comes while Binance remains the exchange to beat. CoinMarketCap’s current spot-exchange table ranks Binance first under a methodology that weighs traffic, liquidity, trading volume and confidence in reported volumes, ahead of Coinbase Exchange, Upbit and OKX.
The event will be an early high-profile outing for Binance’s dual leadership structure. Yi He joined Teng as co-CEO in December, with Reuters reporting at the time that the move was framed as part of a push to expand Binance’s global presence and strengthen compliance.
Binance’s agenda opens with Jessica Walker, followed by a session titled “300 Million to 3 Billion | The Next Phase of Binance” with Yi He and Teng. A later panel, “The Evolution Era,” brings Teng together with Garlinghouse and Liu for a discussion on crypto scalability, developer adoption, real-world use and institutional links. Binance
Yi He said the conversation has moved beyond “whether digital assets will matter” and toward how the industry will “scale” and “integrate with global finance,” according to a syndicated release carried by ThePrint. That is the main pitch: crypto as plumbing for broader finance, not just a market for coins. ThePrint
The 12:10 UTC session, “Where Smart Money Is Moving Now,” lists Zhao, venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya and Professional Capital Management founder Anthony Pompliano. Binance has also scheduled a Bitcoin session with Blockstream CEO Adam Back and The Block’s Gareth Jenkinson, plus a 14:45 UTC discussion on capital-market tokenization with Goldstein and Binance finance executive Kaiser Ng. A preview livestream on May 6 featured Chromia, Epic, Fusionist, Pixels and Zerobase, with Blockchain.News saying the session offered agenda details and 2,000 USDC in “red packets,” a promotional giveaway format. USDC is a stablecoin, a crypto token designed to track the value of the U.S. dollar. Blockchain News
The promotional layer is not small. Binance said the main event will include $10,000 in crypto rewards and a 3,000 USDC pool for users who pre-register and attend, though its terms say the activity may not be available in every region and that rewards are due within 30 working days after the event ends.
But a livestream will not remove the harder issues around regulation, access and trust. Reuters reported in February that Binance had applied through Greece to operate in the European Union under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, or MiCA, and that crypto firms must secure a licence by July 2026 to keep operating in the bloc; Teng also said then that retail sentiment had weakened while long-term institutional money continued to invest.
The result is a marketing event with a policy and market subtext. Binance is giving itself a global stage before May 13; the test is whether the discussion looks like serious institutional engagement or just another exchange-led broadcast with rewards attached.
