  • Vantrue unveils world-first dash cam with thermal imaging and 6.25-inch touchscreen
January 9, 2026, 3:08 AM EST. Vantrue has unveiled the first dash cam to integrate a thermal imaging camera. The Vantrue P2 records heat signatures to spot pedestrians, animals and obstacles up to 200 feet away, useful in darkness, fog or rain. The kit adds a 6.25-inch high-brightness touchscreen for monitoring the thermal feed, plus built-in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support and a HUD that displays alerts. The system combines front, cabin and rear cameras: front and rear use Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensors at 1440p with HDR, cabin uses IMX662 at 1080p. Data moves over Wi-Fi 6, microSD up to 1TB, and 24/7 smart parking monitoring requires a hardwire kit. Availability and price pending.
