Google Pixel phones finally get native call recording — how to enable it and when it’s legal (November 2025)

Google has begun rolling out native call recording to Pixel 6 and newer phones through the November 2025 Pixel Feature Drop and an updated Phone by Google app. The feature appears in the Call Assist menu, with in-call controls and automatic announcements. Availability depends on local law, and the option may be hidden in some regions. Non-Pixel Android phones can also access call recording, subject to restrictions.
