Aviva plc says accidental damage now tops home insurance claims as costs jump 63%

Property insurance claims across the UK hit a record £6.1 billion in 2025, while average premiums fell to £379. Televisions made up 18% of Aviva’s accidental-damage claims. Aviva reports first-quarter results on May 14.
