  • CES 2026: ASUS ROG and Xreal unveil R1 Gaming Glasses with 171-inch virtual screen
January 19, 2026, 2:28 AM EST. At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) and Xreal unveiled the ROG Xreal R1 Gaming Glasses, a lightweight wearable with dual 0.55-inch Sony micro-OLED panels running at 1920x1080 and 240 Hz. The setup projects a virtual 171-inch screen four meters away, delivering a cinema-style display without full VR immersion. Weighed about 91 g, the glasses deliver about 2 ms motion-to-photon latency and a 57-degree field of view, with an "Anchor Mode" that holds the image fixed or lets it follow the user's gaze. The product is designed for plug-and-play with PCs, consoles, and the ROG Ally via HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, or USB-C, using the optional ROG Control Dock. It aims to offer a big-screen experience on the go, outside traditional VR headsets.
