Chery’s Japan EV Push Gets a Reality Check From Autobacs
Autobacs Seven said it invested in Singapore’s Electric Mobility Technology but has not decided on selling or servicing China-made EVs in Japan. The company narrowed reports of a venture with Chery Automobile to sell EVs from 2027. Chery said it is only a shareholder in EMT and not involved in operations. Autobacs will announce any sales or service plans once decisions are made.
