January 9, 2026, 9:16 AM EST. Meta said it has reached agreements with Vistra, TerraPower and Oklo to supply power for its Prometheus supercluster at a data center in New Albany, Ohio. The deals, for which no financial terms were disclosed, aim to add about 6.6 gigawatts (GW) of capacity by 2035, a level that would exceed New Hampshire's demand. Meta will fund parts of Vistra's nuclear plants in Ohio and Pennsylvania, extending their lifespans. TerraPower and Oklo projects remain under development, with TerraPower facilities potentially generating power by 2032 and Prometheus expected online in 2026. Meta policy chief Joel Kaplan framed the moves as safeguarding U.S. AI leadership, while rivals also pursue nuclear-energy deals.
