Micron ships 256GB SOCAMM2 samples, chasing lower-power memory for AI servers
Micron began shipping customer samples of a 256GB SOCAMM2 low-power server memory module for AI data centers, the company said Thursday. The module enables up to 2TB of CPU-attached memory per eight-channel server CPU and uses one-third the power of equivalent RDIMM setups. Micron shares fell 0.9% to $397.05 in late U.S. trading.
