Anthropic’s Claude for Word Targets Lawyers, Putting Fresh Pressure on Microsoft Copilot
Anthropic launched Claude for Word in beta, embedding its AI assistant directly into Microsoft Word as a sidebar that can review, rewrite, and track changes in documents. The tool targets legal work, offering contract review features and is available to Team and Enterprise customers starting at $25 per user per month. Competitors include Harvey and Legora, both recently valued in the billions. Courts have already disciplined lawyers for relying on AI-generated citations.
