National Grid plc Advances LionLink as BritNed Turns 15, Deepening UK-Netherlands Power Trade
National Grid said BritNed, the 1-GW power cable between Britain and the Netherlands, marked 15 years in service as it and TenneT signed a deal to advance the LionLink interconnector. BritNed has traded nearly 93 TWh since 2011 and delivered £1.65 billion in benefits for UK consumers over three years. LionLink could carry up to 2 GW in the 2030s but still requires regulatory approvals.
