  • Energy World Corporation Sells Siemens Turbines for $350M to Fund LNG Expansion
June 1, 2026, 10:03 PM EDT. Energy World Corporation (ASX: EWC) has agreed to sell Siemens gas and steam turbines to Hallador Energy for US$350 million to fund its liquefied natural gas (LNG) pivot. The sale includes two SGT6-5000F gas turbines and one SST6-5000 steam turbine, with payments staged via escrow based on delivery and inspection milestones. The turbines will undergo refurbishment in the US, with baseline costs of US$22 million, split between buyer and seller for any additional expenses. Energy World expects net proceeds of about US$331 million after costs and anticipates recognising the transaction in its FY26 results. A non-cash impairment of approximately US$285 million is expected due to asset value adjustments. This move aligns with Energy World's strategic review to monetise assets and focus on LNG projects in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Australia.
