Sony PS5 Price Hike: New PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro and Portal Costs Take Effect April 2
Sony will raise PlayStation 5 prices in major markets on April 2, with the U.S. standard console set at $649.99 and the PS5 Pro at $899.99. The increase follows a 16% drop in PS5 unit sales last quarter and comes amid rising memory chip and helium costs. Sony last raised U.S. PS5 prices in August 2025. Microsoft increased Xbox prices last year.
