An ETNews report says the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will adopt a new Samsung display tech: LTPO+, an updated oxide backplane that boosts efficiency and may extend battery life, and an under-display IR Face ID system that places the infrared sensors below the screen. The switch could raise questions about how, or if, the Dynamic Island will appear-Apple is said to move the front-facing camera to the upper-left corner of the display. If Face ID sits under glass, the dynamic cutout would have to change. Opinions differ: 9to5Mac argues it could remain but become more dynamic or largely hidden; Jon Prosser circulated a video of a smaller island, though its basis is unclear. Apple has not confirmed details.
