BP shares rose 1.67% to 561.50 pence in London on Monday, outperforming the FTSE 100’s 0.08% gain. The move follows a jump in oil prices above $111 a barrel and renewed focus on BP’s debt reduction and asset sales. BP reported Q1 profit of $3.2 billion and plans job cuts in its pipeline gas trading team. The company is also considering selling gas assets in Egypt.
