Nothing has started rolling out Android 16 with Nothing OS 4.0 earlier this year; the update introduced Lock Glimpse, an on-lock-screen ads feature, on the Nothing Phone 3a, 3a Pro and 3a Lite. While it was optional, users complained it drained battery even when disabled. Nothing said that Lock Glimpse will be removed on the 3a and 3a Pro as of the December update. The 3a Lite will keep Lock Glimpse for now, with a future update planned to let users uninstall it. The December update also lets 3a users disable Meta services by removing Meta App Installer, Meta App Manager, or Meta Service, with a reboot required after disabling. A new app-recommendation feature can be turned off by disabling the App Services system app.
