More than 2,300 CubeSats had launched by the end of 2023. CubeSats are nano-satellites built from standard 10×10×10 cm units, with sizes ranging from 1U to 16U. NASA’s CubeSat Launch Initiative began in 2010, and missions include MarCO’s Mars flyby in 2018 and LightSail-2’s solar sail test in 2019. Artemis I carried 10 CubeSats to cislunar space in 2022, including CAPSTONE, which reached lunar orbit.

Global 5G connections rose 37% year-on-year to 2.6 billion, led by North America at 88% penetration.
