  • Anna's Archive says it had no direct dealings with Nvidia amid authors' lawsuit
January 23, 2026, 1:28 AM EST. Anna's Archive, a shadow library that scrapes data for a nonprofit-style archive, said on January 21 it had no direct dealings with Nvidia after a 2024 lawsuit by authors Abdi Nazemian, Brian Keene, Stewart O'Nan, Andre Dubus III and Susan Orlean alleged Nvidia copied their works to train its AI models and sought data from the archive. The suit claimed Nvidia gave the green light to use material from Anna's Archive. In a Reddit post, Anna's Archive said it never dealt with Nvidia directly and could provide data to anyone; it would consider agreements with Nvidia if approached, including donations for higher-speed access. The group has previously claimed it scraped Spotify and backed up about 300TB of music and metadata, and its .org domain appeared to be down earlier this year.
