National Grid and SP Energy Networks signed a £3 billion supply contract for the 2GW Eastern Green Link 4 subsea cable between Scotland and England. Siemens Energy will build converter stations; Prysmian supplies the cable system. The UK National Wealth Fund lent £600 million to ScottishPower for the project, expected to power 1.5 million homes. National Grid raised its investment target to at least £70 billion by March 2031.
