November 4, 2025, 7:08 PM EST. Canada's Telesat is aiming to debut two Lightspeed pathfinders in December 2026, using 96 LEO satellites for an initial global broadband service planned for 2027. CEO Dan Goldberg said SpaceX could begin serial launches 2-4 months after the pathfinders to validate ground-tested results. Telesat has 198 satellites on order from MDA Space, with the first launches expected after a mid-2026 start, and a plan to reach 156 satellites in LEO by end-2027 to improve capacity density and tighten SLAs. The full constellation targets around 10 Tbps of capacity for business and government users. • People Inc. inks AI licensing deal with Microsoft as Google traffic drops
November 4, 2025, 7:02 PM EST. People Inc., a major US media publisher, has struck an AI licensing deal with Microsoft to become a launch partner in its publisher content marketplace. This is the company's second AI deal after an arrangement with OpenAI last year. The setup uses a pay-per-use (a la carte) model, with Copilot expected as the first buyer. CEO Neil Vogel called the marketplace a sign that AI players will compensate publishers for content. The news comes as IAC reported that Google Search AI Overviews hurt People Inc.'s traffic, with share dropping from 54% to 24% in the latest quarter. Vogel also noted that using Cloudflare to block other AI crawlers is accelerating licensing talks. More deals are anticipated.
