RedMagic 11 Air goes global on Jan 29 as slim gaming phone targets buyers outside China

January 21, 2026

SHENZHEN, China, Jan 21, 2026, 06:37 GMT+8

RedMagic plans to roll out its new 11 Air gaming smartphone globally on Jan. 29, following its initial debut in China on Jan. 20. The official launch page shows 12:00 UTC, though the company typically begins with pre-orders before actual shipments, Notebookcheck noted.

The timing is crucial as RedMagic aims to launch an “Air” model that retains the niche’s signature cooling fan but cuts down on bulk. Nubia, the company behind RedMagic gaming phones, has positioned the Air line as a slimmer, lighter alternative to its flagship devices, Liliputing reported. Liliputing

Asus chairman Jonney Shih announced the company “will no longer add new mobile phone models in the future” and is entering a phase of “indefinite observation,” The Verge reports. This move casts uncertainty over the future of its ROG Phone gaming series. The Verge

RedMagic’s global site is counting down to the 11 Air launch, set for Jan. 29 at 7:00 a.m. EST. Visitors can sign up for updates, but there’s no word yet on international pricing or carrier partnerships.

In China, the phone is priced at 3,699 yuan ($530) for the 12GB/256GB model and 4,399 yuan for the 16GB/512GB version, with a 200-yuan discount at launch, FoneArena reported. Sales kick off on Jan. 20, the site added.

RedMagic is offering gamers a familiar setup: a 6.8-inch 1.5K display boasting a 144Hz refresh rate, which means the screen refreshes up to 144 times per second. It also includes shoulder triggers that function as extra buttons. Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, backed by a hefty 7,000mAh battery with 120W wired charging, according to a company press release cited by Android Central.

Cooling takes center stage since chips throttle performance to control heat over extended use. HotHardware noted the 11 Air packs a 24,000-rpm Turbo Fan 4.0 alongside a vapor chamber—a flat heat spreader. Meanwhile, RedMagic says its revamped fan blades boost airflow by 21%.

Before launching in China, RedMagic gave a sneak peek of the 7,000mAh battery on Weibo and highlighted bypass charging. This feature allows the phone to pull power straight from the charger while gaming, cutting down on battery wear, PhoneArena reported.

The phone features an under-display selfie camera, hiding beneath the screen instead of a notch or punch hole, which keeps the front nearly all screen, Notebookcheck reported. On the back, it packs a 50-megapixel main camera alongside an 8-megapixel ultrawide, the site added.

RedMagic hasn’t announced when the 11 Air will arrive outside China yet. Its European launch page notes that prices and availability will differ by country. Any global release will need to factor in taxes, certifications, and local network regulations, which could drive prices above the China launch figures.

Nubia Technology, the company behind the RedMagic phone brand, states its registered address is in Shenzhen, as noted in its privacy policy.

  • Skin Elements clinches NZ distribution deal for ECO-Nurture crop spray
July 8, 2026, 10:53 PM EDT. Skin Elements (ASX: SKN) signed an exclusive deal with Farmlands Co-operative Society in New Zealand to distribute its ECO-Nurture bio-stimulant, focusing on the kiwi fruit segment. Farmlands is starting with a 4,000-litre order worth around $495,000, hoping to tackle PSA, a bacteria that has hit orchards since 2010. ECO-Nurture is a plant-based option to cut chemical use and boost plant health. The target is New Zealand's $4.15 billion kiwifruit industry. Company trials over four seasons with more than 100 orchards turned up positive results. A wider rollout is planned for more crops and markets after regulatory clearance. Farmlands' 80+ stores are expected to push sales growth in the sector.
