Metan detectat pe cometa interstelară 3I/ATLAS, în timp ce noi studii îi stabilesc dimensiunea
Scientists report the first direct detection of methane in the interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS, using James Webb and Hubble data from December. The comet’s nucleus measures about 2.6 km wide, larger than expected. 3I/ATLAS is now fading as it exits the inner solar system. Findings are detailed in preprints posted to arXiv.
