Google began rolling out the February 2026 Android 16 update for Pixel 7a and newer devices, including Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet. The update addresses a high-severity security flaw, CVE-2026-0106, in the VPU driver. No new features or user-facing changes are included. Pixel 6 and 7 models are not listed for this release.

Google is investigating reports that its Pixel “Take a Message” feature may transmit users’ background audio to callers after missed calls. Some Reddit users say callers hear room noise or conversations instead of voicemail greetings. The issue appears limited to certain Pixel models. Google says the feature is available on Pixel 4 and newer phones in the US, UK, Ireland, and Australia.
