National Grid and SP Energy Networks signed £3 billion supply contracts for the 2 GW Eastern Green Link 4 subsea cable between Scotland and England. Siemens Energy will supply HVDC converter stations; Prysmian will provide cables. The UK National Wealth Fund approved a £600 million loan to ScottishPower for the project, expected to power 1.5 million homes. National Grid raised its investment target to at least £70 billion by March 2031.
