New York, Feb 12, 2026, 07:35 ET — Premarket
Shares of SoFi Technologies, Inc. (SOFI.O) slipped 2.9% in premarket trading Thursday, hitting $20.55 after closing at $21.17. The drop followed news that SoFi Securities (Hong Kong) teamed up with OSL Group to introduce digital-asset trading within the SoFi Hong Kong app—marking the company’s first foray into crypto beyond the U.S. “Helping our members realize their ambitions means giving them total control,” said Annie Lok, vice president and head of SoFi Hong Kong. 1
By targeting Hong Kong, SoFi signals just how far it’s willing to go to expand investing tools outside its home turf. It also tests whether regulated crypto trading can help it stand out in an already packed fintech space.
It’s entering a market jittery about rates. A stronger U.S. jobs report has traders pulling back on near-term bets for Federal Reserve cuts, shifting focus to inflation numbers and other data that could sway yields and growth stocks. 2
OSL revealed that SoFi Hong Kong has integrated its Omnibus Pro infrastructure, while OSL’s Hong Kong-licensed subsidiary takes on trade execution, custody, and wallet management. Eugene Cheung, OSL’s chief commercial officer, called the partnership “a significant step … into the mainstream financial ecosystem.” SoFi Hong Kong, regulated by the Securities and Futures Commission, is a subsidiary of SoFi Technologies, which serves 13.7 million members globally. 3
Direxion has rolled out a new daily 2x bull single-stock ETF linked to SoFi, aimed at traders. Leveraged ETFs like this track a stock’s daily price swings, doubling both potential gains and losses—making them ideal for short-term bets. “Our new Single Stock Leveraged ETFs give traders precise tools to express short-term views,” said Mo Sparks, Direxion’s chief product officer. 4
SoFi revealed a monthly distribution for its SoFi Enhanced Yield ETF (THTA), listing Feb. 12 as the ex-date and scheduling the payment for Feb. 13, per a recent release. 5
But the crypto rollout might not deliver immediate gains. Adoption, trading activity, and regulatory frameworks in Hong Kong will all play crucial roles, while digital-asset volumes tend to dry up fast once volatility drops. If inflation ticks higher, yields could rise, putting more strain on rate-sensitive fintech stocks.
