  • Infleqtion to go public via SPAC merger; CEO outlines plan to win in quantum race
January 10, 2026, 3:28 AM EST. Infleqtion and Churchill Capital Corp X filed an S-4 to pursue a SPAC merger that would take Infleqtion public as INFQ in Q1, subject to closing. Infleqtion uses neutral-atom quantum technology, diverging from peers that rely on trapped-ion or superconducting approaches. The pre-merger valuation was about $1.8 billion, well below listed peers. Citron Research previously called Infleqtion the most compelling quantum trade, saying CCCX led Rigetti. CEO Matthew Kinsella told Reuters in October that the plan mirrors Nvidia's monetization: target early markets, then broaden to commercial use. Early applications are seen in materials development, with potential in jet fuels and other materials challenges. The strategy emphasizes ramping volumes to drive down costs and expanding beyond public-sector pilots into private customers through software and hardware advances.
