  • Outage-tracker data showed over 19,000 users in the United States experienced issues during a short service disruption
  • Just before noon on the U.S. East Coast, reports surged past 19,281.
  • Internet monitor NetBlocks reported “international outages” amid the disruption

Elon Musk’s social platform X went down briefly Sunday, sparking over 19,000 user reports in the U.S. on Downdetector. The outage lasted roughly 45 minutes, with service mostly restored by 12:04 p.m. ET. X has yet to comment on the disruption.

The outage was brief, yet it struck a platform designed for instant updates. When X hiccups, both users and businesses that rely on it for real-time posts notice immediately.

Outages don’t just linger anymore. People share screenshots, vent on other platforms, and hunt for alternative feeds—even if just for a short while.

By 11:19 a.m. ET, Downdetector recorded over 19,281 problem reports.

NetBlocks reported tracking “international outages” on X, stressing the issue wasn’t tied to country-level internet disruptions or filtering. Bluesky Social

Outage numbers can be deceptive. Downdetector relies on user reports and various signals, which might not capture everyone impacted.

X experienced additional brief outages recently, including one on Jan. 22, which caused a surge in Downdetector reports.

Meta Platforms’s Threads and Bluesky are also targeting the short-post crowd, each with their own timeline-style feeds. They’re competing in the same space.

  • TrivarX (ASX:TRI) Faces Rising Cash Burn with 13-Month Runway
May 6, 2026, 5:40 PM EDT. TrivarX (ASX:TRI), an early-stage biotech firm, had AU$3.5 million in cash as of December 2025 with no debt. The company's cash runway-the time before funds run out at its current spending rate-stands at around 13 months based on an annual cash burn of AU$3.2 million. However, its cash burn surged 74% over the past year, signaling aggressive business development but increasing risk that it may need to raise funds sooner. TrivarX has yet to generate revenue, heightening concerns about longer-term sustainability and financing needs. Investors should monitor how the firm plans to extend its runway, either through share issuance or debt, especially given its lack of operating income.
