Fresh leaks are piling up for Motorola’s upcoming Razr flip phones. Images posted by PhoneArena, allegedly sourced from Evan Blass, show off the regular Razr 70 with four distinct textured finishes. The Razr 70 Ultra, at least from early looks, doesn’t stray far from last year’s design. Specs leaks hint at a bigger battery this round, and new certification filings indicate the launch window could be near.

Timing’s key here. Motorola is ramping up its foldable push right as it’s gaining ground. Pre-orders for the new Razr Fold are open on its UK site, and Counterpoint puts Motorola’s North American foldables share at 44% for 2025. IDC, in a note last month, pegged its U.S. slice at around 50%—putting it ahead of Samsung and Google.

The standard Razr 70—expected to launch as the Razr (2026) in some regions—showed up in Sporting Green, Hematite, Violet Ice, plus a glossy white. Both Android Headlines and The Verge point out that Motorola hasn’t strayed from its signature flip-phone silhouette. There’s still a big cover display, or outer screen, and a pair of rear cameras built into that same outer panel when the device is snapped shut.

Certification documents indicate Motorola isn’t straying far from last year’s blueprint with the base model. According to Gadgets 360, listings and TENAA specs reveal 33W charging, a battery close to 4,500mAh, dual 50-megapixel cameras on the back, as much as 18GB of RAM, and storage options up to 1TB.

The Razr 70 Ultra — which goes by Razr Ultra 2026 in the U.S. — is showing up in at least Orient Blue Alcantara and Pantone Cocoa Wood. Android Headlines’ latest report pegs the phone with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage, a 5,000mAh battery, and 68W fast charging.

If these specs prove accurate, the Ultra looks more like a refresh than a full overhaul. On Motorola’s U.S. product page, the current Razr Ultra lists a 4,700mAh battery, 68W charging, and a triple 50-megapixel camera setup.

Motorola’s folding phone ambitions are front and center in its latest UK marketing. The company has started taking pre-orders for the Razr Fold — that’s the book-style foldable, not the classic flip — with UK web pages teasing there’s “more to unfold.” On top of that, the homepage is pushing Razr Fold deals as part of its FIFA World Cup 26 tie-in. Wider carrier access and cheaper starting prices are pushing foldables out of the niche zone, analysts say. “Pricing strategy and carrier partnerships played a key role,” said Counterpoint Associate Director Liz Lee, pointing to Motorola’s approach. Principal Analyst Gerrit Schneemann described the North American market as “transitioning from a single-player dominated market to a more competitive one.” Counterpoint Research

Some of the leaked specs aren’t matching up. Previous reports about the Ultra mentioned a 4,700mAh battery and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. Later leaks, though, listed a 5,000mAh battery and simply a Snapdragon 8 Elite. That discrepancy hints specs could shift ahead of launch, or those initial details may have been partial.

Competition might get even fiercer before the year wraps up. Counterpoint this week pegged Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone at a hefty 46% share of North America’s foldables market by 2026. Lee noted, “Google and Motorola have been key growth drivers in North America, but Apple’s foldable iPhone is set to significantly alter that trajectory.” For Motorola, that means contending with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip, Google’s book-style foldables, and a potentially game-changing move from Apple, all at once. • Alphabet’s 105x SpaceX Bet Lifts Portfolio, But Analysts Warn on Valuation
August 13, 2026, 2:58 AM EDT. Alphabet's $900 million bet on SpaceX in 2015 soared to a $94.18 billion stake by June 2023, turning into a 105x gain. The holding now makes up 95% of Alphabet's stock portfolio and helped push its marketable securities to $186.5 billion in Q2, almost double from before. SpaceX shares have dropped 17% since June. Alphabet now stands at a $1.85 trillion market cap. Elon Musk says SpaceX could one day be worth more than the combined global market cap if targets are met. But some market analysts say the outlook is speculative and urge patience given challenges like US tariffs and geopolitical tensions.
