Amazon Shares: Corning Deal Puts Focus on AI Spending

Amazon shares fell 0.6% to $244.50 after announcing a multiyear optical fiber supply deal with Corning for U.S. data centers. Corning stock jumped 6.3% as the company said the agreement would add 1,000 jobs in North Carolina. Investors focused on Amazon’s rising AI infrastructure costs. The Nasdaq rose 1.27% in morning trading.
