  • Challenger Gold Begins Production at Hualilán with First Gold Pour
June 2, 2026, 1:03 AM EDT. Challenger Gold has poured its first gold doré bar from the Hualilán project in Argentina, marking its transition from developer to producer. The initial pour followed processing of approximately 15,000 tonnes of ore through a toll milling agreement with Austral Gold's Casposo plant. This first batch yielded about 200 kilograms of doré, containing an estimated 500 ounces of gold and 6,000 ounces of silver. The toll milling deal secures processing capacity of 150,000 tonnes annually. CEO Kris Knauer highlighted this as a transformative step, providing Challenger with self-funded cash flow to advance drilling and project development. Meanwhile, mining at the Magnata pit is accelerating after its first production blast. Hualilán holds a resource estimate of 2.8 million ounces of gold equivalent, underpinning the company's growth plans.
