Newmont stock price slides as Nevada JV dispute and 2026 outlook grab the wheel
Newmont shares fell 2.7% to $122.06 Friday after the company disclosed a notice of default to Barrick at their Nevada Gold Mines joint venture, citing evidence of mismanagement. The drop erased gains from a post-earnings rally, as investors weighed 2026 output and cost guidance. Newmont reported 2025 gold reserves of 118.2 million ounces, down from last year. Spot gold rose 1% to $5,047.10 an ounce.
