Indane, HP Gas, Bharat Gas Alert: LPG Subsidy Could Stop In 7 Days After Tax Check
Indian state-run oil companies have begun sending SMS alerts to some LPG customers, warning that subsidies may be stopped if income-tax data shows annual income above Rs 10 lakh and no response is received within seven days. The move shifts subsidy checks from self-declaration to data matching. Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said there is no LPG supply issue and stocks are sufficient. Some consumers have reported confusion and concerns over the new alerts.
