DeNA Founder Tomoko Namba Returns as CEO as AI Bet Meets Profit Drop

DeNA said founder Tomoko Namba will return as president and CEO on June 27, replacing Shingo Okamura, after reporting a 9.9% drop in annual revenue and a 35.5% fall in operating profit. The company cited the need for faster management as it pushes into AI and new businesses. Namba has pledged to overhaul operations using AI and shift staff into new ventures. DeNA shares closed at 2,661 yen, little changed before the news.
