Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal are in talks to sell Moneris to Francisco Partners in a deal valuing the payment processor at over $2 billion, according to the Financial Times. Negotiations have lasted months and could conclude by summer. Moneris processes about a third of all Canadian transactions and reported nearly $700 million in annual revenue last year. The parties declined to comment.
