Tesco shares rose 2.8% to 461.50p in late London trading Monday after the company bought 5.64 million shares for cancellation as part of its £750 million buyback. Sainsbury’s gained 1.8%. The FTSE 100 climbed 1.3%. Tesco has spent £77.9 million on buybacks since April 22.
