Axesstel D-35(MV410) no ethernet or wireless access

Post autor: Igor83 »

After upgrading device with new firmware(MV400_ETH_400C_07_STNDUpgradeMi.bin) using web interface, i cannot get access to 192.168.0.1 via ethernet and no wireless broadcasting. Works only via USB as modem.
On LAN card try automatic and manual settings, no results. On device indicators Ethernet and Wifi inactive.
As I understand i use wrong firmware, is anybody know how to restore original firmware or get access in emergency mode?

Thx in advance, and sorry for english

I think that the only way the bring back the Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity is to flash the firmware using a cable that connects to DIAG port on the left side of the modem. I didn't have much time to look more into firmware, but I noticed that MV410R bootloader (very stock looking Das U-Boot) supports flashing firmware images via TFTP. If you can get ahold of that cable, maybe you will be able to fix your modem.

Please note that I'm not sure that this will work, I couldn't access bootloader serial console using a USB cable (it's probably connected directly to modem's baseband chip, but I might be wrong), so I guess it can be accessed using DIAG port.

If you are interested in a technical explantation of why Wi-Fi and LAN stopped working: there are two different versions of MV410R, one uses a Ralink-based MiniPCI WLAN card, while another one uses something else and binary blob for Ralink cards isn't present in that firmware. I don't know what about LAN chips, but it's probably a similiar problem.

Thx for answer. Unfortunately i havn't diag cable. My model is MV410 without RUIM slot, but i think it has same LAN chip. And looks like it's dead :)

1) For mv400 configuration site is available on 192.168.0.1, but try 192.168.1.1
2) Try another web viewer, sometimes Firefox, Opera or Safari etc. doesn't work with some routers.
3) Is there a possibility to update firmware via USB via AxesstelManager?
4) Did u set proper switch position (LAN/USB switch) while u were trying to gain admission to config site via Ethernet cable?

1. Try a lot of combination 192.168.x.x nothing
2. Chrome, IE, Firefox
3. When try update via usb device comes in downloading mode and then axessmanager gives runtime error, as i understand via usb possible upgrade only modem part, not LAN/WiFi module.
4. I try in both way
Try to found DIAG cable or it's technical characteristics
