Vodafone and Digi Romania agreed to split Telekom Romania Mobile’s assets.

Governments and operators in 75 countries have shut down 169 2G and 3G networks as of 2024, according to GSMA. Namibia launched its first private 4G network, while South Africa plans to retire 2G/3G by 2027. The Philippines and New Zealand are phasing out legacy networks. In Nigeria, T2 gained 290,000 subscribers after a roaming deal with MTN.
