FTSE 100 falls as oil and banks weigh, but still tops midcaps for week
FTSE 100 closed down 0.2% at 10,508.02 on Friday, with banks and energy stocks leading declines as Brent crude fell 4.5% to $71.86. Wise Group surged 9.6% after reporting a 21% rise in active customers and announcing a $500 million buyback. Gold miners rose 2.5% as gold prices climbed. For the week, FTSE 100 gained 1.4%, while FTSE 250 slipped 0.2%.
