Vodafone Group PLC Share Price Rises as Berenberg Lifts Target and Buyback Continues

Vodafone shares rose 0.28% to 107.95 pence Friday after the company bought back 2 million shares and Berenberg raised its target price to 123 pence. The buyback is part of a €500 million tranche launched in February, with €3.5 billion already completed since May 2024. Vodafone reported 5.4% third-quarter service revenue growth and maintained full-year profit guidance. Germany remains a competitive challenge.

Airbus’ SpaceRAN bet: a 5G “base station in space” is coming, with a 2027 in‑orbit demo

Airbus UpNext has launched the SpaceRAN demonstrator to test standardized 5G Non-Terrestrial Network connectivity from orbit, with a satellite payload planned for launch in 2027 and in-orbit testing in 2028. Aalyria is providing real-time optimization software for the project. The initiative is backed by the French government’s France 2030 plan.

FCC Lets Verizon End the 60-Day Phone Unlocking Rule: What Changes for iPhone and Android Users Starting Jan. 13, 2026

Verizon received an FCC waiver ending its 60-day automatic phone unlocking rule, effective January 13, 2026, for new device activations. Phones activated before that date remain under the old rule. Verizon will now follow the CTIA Consumer Code, unlocking devices upon request after conditions are met, rather than automatically.

FCC clears SpaceX to add 7,500 more Starlink satellites — and loosen a key limit that caps capacity

The FCC approved SpaceX to launch 7,500 more second-generation Starlink satellites, doubling its Gen2 fleet to 15,000. The order allows lower orbital altitudes of 340–485 km and grants a temporary waiver on certain U.S. EPFD interference limits, while capping overlapping Ku-band beams at eight. SpaceX must have half of the authorized Gen2 satellites in orbit by December 1, 2028, and the rest by December 1, 2031.
