- Moto G Max comes with a price tag of ₹27,999 for the version that has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
- The silicon-carbon battery has a 7,000mAh capacity and is rated for 63 hours of use.
- Sales in India begin August 20, available online and in stores.
Motorola, owned by Lenovo Group (HKG:0992), launched the Moto G Max in India at ₹27,999. The phone has a 7,000mAh battery and ships with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Sales start August 20 on Flipkart, Motorola’s own site and major retail outlets.
Motorola is betting on battery life. The company claims up to 63 hours of use from the Max, which is almost three days in its own testing. Still, POCO has phones out now in stores with even bigger batteries and OLED displays, and they cost less.
This is a pretty simple call for buyers. Motorolas offer quicker memory, a wider camera, and tough build. Rivals go for bigger batteries, brighter screens, or longer updates.

Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) is behind the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, which powers the Motorola. The device comes with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Those are both newer specs expected to improve load times, but no third-party benchmarks were available when this was published.
The device sports a 6.72-inch LCD running at 120Hz, with peak brightness going up to 1,050 nits. Gorilla Glass 7i from Corning (NYSE:GLW) covers the display. The IP64 rating means it’s resistant to dust and splashes, but submersion will break it.

Motorola India chief T.M. Narasimhan said, “a smartphone is no longer just a device.” Motorola’s new Max phone tries to match that pitch, shipping in three Pantone shades: Stargazer, Alaskan Blue, and Malaga. Indian Express launch report
| Model | List price | Battery capacity | Price per 1,000mAh |
|---|---|---|---|
| Moto G Max | ₹27,999 | 7,000mAh | About ₹4,000 |
| POCO M8 Power | ₹24,999 | 8,000mAh | About ₹3,125 |
| Moto G96 | ₹17,999 launch price | 5,500mAh | About ₹3,273 |
Motorola’s G96 shows the trade-off in this range. The company launched the G96 at ₹10,000 less, but it still packs a 144Hz pOLED display, has IP68 rating, and weighs in at 178 grams. Specs are solid. The Max version adds a battery that’s 27% bigger and newer Android.
Risks: Higher battery capacity doesn’t guarantee the longest run time. The 63-hour claim from Motorola isn’t verified by outside tests. Early reviews mention both 30W and 33W charging; look at the actual charger in the box before buying.
The Max goes for faster storage, more camera choices and less weight, instead of the POCO’s bigger battery and OLED screen. For ₹27,999, these features matter more than battery capacity.
