Google Pixel 10 modem gets quiet Rust security overhaul to curb baseband attacks
Google has deployed a Rust-based DNS parser in Pixel 10 modem firmware, marking the first use of memory-safe code in a Pixel baseband. The change targets memory-safety vulnerabilities that previously allowed remote device compromise. Google selected and adapted the open-source hickory-proto library for this purpose. The update adds about 371 kilobytes to the modem image.
