Amazon’s New Fire TV Stick HD Signals the End of Android — and Sideloading — on Fire TV Sticks
Amazon will launch its new Fire TV Stick HD on April 29, running Vega OS instead of Android-based Fire OS. The switch blocks sideloading, restricting users to apps from the Amazon Appstore. The device is slimmer, supports Wi-Fi 6, and will ship in over a dozen countries. Amazon has not commented on future plans for the Fire TV lineup.
