Berkshire Hathaway successor update: Delta in, Amazon out

Berkshire Hathaway revealed a $2.65 billion stake in Delta Air Lines and sharply increased its Alphabet holdings in the first quarter, while exiting Amazon, Visa, Mastercard, and UnitedHealth. The Form 13F filing showed Berkshire held 39.8 million Delta shares and about $16.6 billion in Alphabet stock as of March 31. Greg Abel oversaw the changes after taking over as CEO. U.S. markets will react when trading resumes Monday.

Exxon Mobil stock price climbs as oil jumps on Iran talks; OPEC+ meeting ahead

Exxon Mobil shares climbed 2.46% to $152.20 Friday as oil prices hit multi-month highs after the U.S. and Iran extended nuclear talks. Brent crude rose to $72.45 a barrel and WTI to $66.56. OPEC+ and Gulf producers signaled possible output increases for April. Investors await the March 1 OPEC+ meeting and Vienna talks next week.

Chevron’s Iraq oilfield gamble: one-year exclusive talks for West Qurna 2 after Lukoil sanctions

Chevron has secured a one-year exclusive window to negotiate new terms for Iraq’s West Qurna 2 oilfield after U.S. sanctions forced Russia’s Lukoil to exit. Any transfer of the field requires Iraqi cabinet approval and clearance from U.S. sanctions authorities. West Qurna 2 produces about 480,000 barrels per day, nearly 10% of Iraq’s oil output.
