Subaru Slashes Profit Outlook as EV Write-Down and Middle East Shipping Delays Bite
Subaru slashed its operating profit forecast for the year ended March 31 to 40 billion yen from 130 billion yen, citing U.S. weather disruption, Middle East shipping delays, and a battery-EV asset write-down. Shares closed down 1.63% in Tokyo, hitting a year-to-date low. Net profit is now expected at 90 billion yen, down 73% from last year. Revenue was also trimmed to 4.78 trillion yen.
